Entering the World of Girls

My best friend, my roommate and my ultra guy buddy just was offered a terrific job out of town.  So he’s moving out.  I’ve decided to do the same.  There have been too many challenges of beer guzzling, Wii golf and light saber duels at our place to simply find a new roommate.  No, my time is done at this apartment.  So I thought it best to find a new place, with new roommates, closer to the office.

I spoke to a bunch of different people who were looking for roomies.  Boring people.  Sketchy people.  Gross people.  And then two girls came across my path.  They didn’t know each other and were looking for a third to move into a 100 year old house near Ossington subway station.  I thought this sounded great, there would be lots of space to sprawl out for movies, a soundproof bedroom for late night Guitar Hero, and a bathroom across from my bedroom…just in case.  I shook their hands and made my way into the night after viewing my new home.  Then I pulled out my cell phone and called my folks to let them in on the good news.

My father laughed.  I mean he laughed harder than I had heard him before.  Like a crazy hyena in the middle of the night.  Then he passed me off to my mother who sounded a little bit frightened.  She immediately wanted to know what my intentions were and if these new roommates were “attractive.”  They told me my days of endlessly lazing about were coming to a close, the onsite laundry was going to be constantly in use by “delicates,” and the sole bathroom in the house would lead to certain disaster.  I hung up the phone terrified.  I know they were looking out for me, but I had entered into this.  And these young ladies seemed pretty cool.  But then again, it is my first time moving in with girls.

If you have any tips or horror stories, please leave a comment for me with what I should expect for my first time living with ladies.
